Mogwai Young Team

Woah, finally got myself into waking up and doing some reviewing but not death metal though.

Mogwai is a post rock band from Scotland, they have released quite the amount of LP's through time and sadly I have put little effort in exploring anything else from these guys, except this album and man it's the shit.

This album is kinda instrumental with a few spoken words there and there. The atmosphere in this album has a sad or angry feeling in it, can't really explain.

This is one of my favorite albums, in fact I listened to this album almost daily, until it got boring. But recently I been starting to listening to it again. I have been in a nostalgic mood lately listening to old favorites and haven't been following the newer releases.

Anaal Nathrakh - Hell Is Empty, And All The Devils Are Here (2007)

Merry Christmas everybody!!

I have not been posting lately because I have been busy, also I have thinking whether I should continue with this blog as I seem to be the only contributor.

Well anyways, this is Anaal Nathrakh. Anaal Nathrakh means "The Serpent's Breath" in some other language. I actually lol'd at the Anaal part a few years back as I guess so many of you did. But Anaal Nathrakh is a really solid two man band and this is my favorite album from them.

The album is unbelievably heavy, fast like hell and has really unusual vocal arrangements. It sounds great!

All in all it makes for a great album. Just check it out, this album is pretty unique.

Haemophagia - From Sickness To Cult (2007)

Can a band be so brutal? Apparently Haemophagia from Spain can. They play Brutal Slam Death Metal and don't hold back in the brutal or the slam. This is their debut full length album.

This album is really intense. It's really brutal with heavy guttural vocals and lo-fi production. Also, the album is surprisingly good, in the first minute or so you can hear how incredibly cool the first song is.

I'm tired, judge for yourselves with MediaFire

Aeon - Path of Fire (2010)

Aeon is a really underrated Swedish Death Metal band. They play Technical Death Metal in a really intense manner. This is their third full length album.

The album has a lot of good runs. It has really interesting riff structures, by that I mean unoriginal Death Metal done in an original way. It's also very brutal, especially the monotonous vocals and the uncompromising attack of the drums.

Check it out on MediaFire or I will stab you.

Cephalic Impurity - Unique Brute Revival (2010)

Cephalic Impurity is a band from Russia. They just released this album through SoulFlesh Collector Records which is run by Mirus of Katalepsy. This is their second album and it kicks ass!

This album is not the most original thing to come out this year but it is by far one of the better Brutal Death/Slam Death releases I've heard this year, at least I was very surprised. It's got good production, an awesome cover, some heavy guttural vocals, blastbeats, and a lot more. I mean what doesn't it have?

All Shall Perish - Hate, Malice, Revenge

Hate, Malice, Revenge is a good example of how to do deathcore right. All Shall Perish didn't do pretty much anything new with the genre when they released this back in 2003 but the result was an extremely solid metal album.

This album brings standard yet very well executed death metal riffing balanced very well with the gratuitous breakdowns the genre is known for. They manage to avoid the pitfall most deathcore bands seem to dive face first into, which is throwing out breakdowns however they can, whenever they can, with aggressive and powerful riffs blending smoothly into crushing breakdowns.
To help to keep things flowing All Shall Perish make use of catchy melodies most evident on songs like Laid to Rest and Our Own Grave, with Craig Betits highly varied and powerful vocal style suiting it perfectly.

This album was followed by The Price of Existence ( 2006 ) which took things in an even more melodic direction, and Awaken the Dreamers ( 2008 ) which is one of the worst and more pretentious albums I've ever heard.

Anyhow, check it out on mediafire

Abominable Putridity - In The End Of Human Existance (2007)

Abominable Putridity is a band from Moscow, Russia. They play incredibly catchy Slam Death Metal. Their vocalist is Big Chocolate who many of you have probably seen on YouTube.

This album has become one of the most well known Slam Death albums in the past few years. That is because this album is incredibly good. It's focused, well written and very brutal. I have listened to it countless times since it came out.

The album sounds very well for this kind of Death Metal. It's got a lot of bass and it's very clear.

You should definitely check it out on MediaFire

Iron Monkey - Our Problem

Iron Monkey was a sludge metal band from the U.K. that released two albums, one s/t and Our Problem.
They formed in 1994 and in 2002 their vocalist Johnny Morrow died of an heart failure.

Our Problem is fantastic, with alot of catchy and great riffs assembled within one album. The vocals sound like a chain smoking, drug abusing alcoholic and it's awesome.

I got into these guys in 2007, by downloading some earache complication and their track Supagorgonizer was in one of the folder, fucking loved it since I first heard it.

This download includes We've Learned Nothing EP

Cerberus - Dispute The Truth (2007)

Cerberus is a band from Los Angeles, California. They play a blend of Thrash Metal and Melodic Death Metal. This is their second full length album. They broke after releasing this album but just got back together a short while ago.

Their music doesn't sound very interesting on paper, I mean Thrash/Melodeath aren't very new genres but these guys pull it off well. A very nice release from these guys.

The album sounds great. It was recorded with Zack Ohren at Castle Ultimate Studios where every metal band in California seems to be recording.

Vehemence - God Was Created (2002)

Vehemence is a band from Phoenix, Arizona. They play Death Metal with a much emphasis on epic melodies. I guess they could be labeled as Melodic Death Metal as they are heavily melodic but the Melodic Death Metal I have listened to doesn't sound quite like this.

This is the bands second full length album. They released three full lengths before calling it quits in 2005. Then later in 2007 they decided to reform and although they haven't released anything since then I hear they have been playing live all over. When they were not playing three of their members went on to play with then newly formed band Abigail Williams. They stopped playing with them when they decided to reform Vehemence.

This album has a very old school production. The production sounds like early NYC Death Metal, especially the drums. The guitars have a tight rhythm sound and have some epic melodies with the typical lead guitar sound.

Self Collapse - The Affliction EP (2009)

Self Collapse is a band from Montreal, Canada. They play what is in essence Deathcore but I like to think of it more like tech death with Hardcore influences. I know that is basically Deathcore but give it a listen and you will see that this is way more than your average Deathcore.

This their first release and this is some great first release. I think people should definitely check out this band. I really liked it and it this band has some great musicians. It sounds good, though not great but what can you expect from a small band releasing their first EP.

Arkaik - Reflections Within Dissonance (2010)

Shit, I haven't posted since Thursday because I have been very busy. Now I am on Christmas break from school and I plan on posting a lot.

Arkaik is a band from California. This is their second full length album.

They play Technical Death Metal, reminds me of Decrepit Birth but not quite as much focus on melodies. They also remind me of Odious Mortem which is not surprising given that all of these bands are from California. I really like how the California tech death scene is evolving. Lots of original tech death coming from there.

The sound on this album is very good, it's clean but also very organic. I really liked this album, it displays great musicianship and since these guys are really trying to find an original sound this is at least a step in the right direction.

Deprecated - Deriding His Creation (1998)

Deprecated is a band from California. They formed in 1995, released one EP and are apparently still active. Now 15 years later they have new material prepared. I found this EP after I was accidentally lurking Metal Archives and I found this band which has Matt Sotelo (Decrepit Birth), A.J. Magana (Defeated Sanity, Disgorge) and Derek Boyer (Suffocation, ex-Decrepit Birth) and some other guy.

I was surprised at how well produced this EP was. I don't care very much for badly produced Brutal Death Metal. It's very thick Brutal Death with pummeling bass and raw power. A.J. Magana delivers the guttural vocals as always. It's actually a very good release in my opinion and I think you should definitely check out this EP.

Son of Aurelius - The Farthest Reaches (2010)

I admit that I seem to have been defeated by the internet. I set out to find some info on this album and I could not find out if their name was Son of Aurelius or Sons of Aurelius or if their album is called The Farthest Reaches, Son of Aurelius or Myocardial Infection. I have now made a semi-educated guess and I hope it's close to the right thing.

Son of Aurelius is a band from Santa Cruz, California. They play Technical Progressive Death Metal. This is their first album (I think).

This album is really growing on me. They make me think of Arsis which was also a grower for me. It's tech death with melodic riffs. I guess it's Technical Swedish Metal.

I think this album is really good and this band could become very big. The musicianship is top-notch, especially the bass player who displays his Berklee skills throughout the album. The other guys also play very well. The guitarist is also a member of Animosity and a live member for Decrepit Birth. The album is really flawless in terms of playing. I think you should definitely give it a listen.

!T.O.O.H.! - Rad a Trest
Now it's time for the second post about this weird deathgrind movement coming from Czech Republic and this time it's
!T.O.O.H.!'s(which is the acronym for The Obliteration of Humanity) Rad a Trest (order and punishment).!T.O.O.H.! is probably the weirdest band I have heard of so far from Czech Republic.

The first thing I noticed while listening to this album for the first time was probably the vocals, not the Average Joe in death metal neither grindcore. The song writing on this album is great, lots of catchy moments and a fair amount of technicality.
They disbanded shortly after releasing this album, they released 4 LP's in their career, so making Rad a Trest a swansong.

Though two of the guy's went off forming another band called
Duobetic Homunkulus, which has a bit of !T.O.O.H.! feeling to it and I will definitely do a review on those dudes!

Highly recommended

Trepalium - XIII

Combine good old death metal with some of the fattest bass grooves around, bouncy and swing-ish rhythms and you've got Trepalium, a band that seems committed to making death metal that compels you to actually dance rather than the usual moshing. Hailing from France, Trepalium have been very active in recent years, touring with bands such as Gojira, Aborted and Behemoth to name a few.

XIII is definitely logical step in the bands stylistic evolution from their previous material, their usage of infectious beats, catchy riffing and monster grooves reaching a whole new level.

Since their debut album Through the Absurd in 2004, Trepalium have become a household name in French death metal, with their extensive touring and renowned live performances cementing them into the death metal scene. I recommend this album to any death metal fan, definitely a must-have.

The Carrier - No Love Can Save Me (2008)

Short post for a short album.

The Carrier is a Hardcore band from Boston. They play Hardcore of the melodic kind with a really epic feel.

I really liked this three song album and so should you.

Also, very cool album cover.

Orchidectomy - A Prelate's Attrition (2008)

Orchidectomy is a band from Toronto, Canada. They play excessively brutal Slam Death. The band formed in 2004 and released one demo and this full length before splitting up.

This album is so incredibly brutal. It's got lots of endless blastbeats, vocals that sound like bong water and lots of circle pit, slam moments. If you like Brutal Slam Death Metal in the vein of Devourment you should definitely check this out.

Hah, apparently Orchidectomy is the surgery which you undergo if they have to remove your testicles. I was trying to find the album cover on google and I got some disturbing images when I went to the pictures section.

Tyranny - Tides Of Awakening

Tyranny is a funeral doom metal band hailing from Finland, where the genre seems to be dominant with band like Skepticism, Thergothon and Wormphlegm (which the members of Tyranny originated from).

These guys bring us 65 minutes of crushing funeral doom metal inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos, Misanthropy and Hatred. If you're experienced with the funeral doom genre you're going to love this. If you're not experienced with the funeral doom metal genre I recommend you start listening to it, NOW!

Malak - Malak EP (2010)

Malak is a band from Florida. Their music is very hard to classify but I think I'm going to call it.... Technical Progressive Death Metal because in fact it's very technical but also very progressive.

This album has one of the coolest intros I have ever heard. It really gets my attention when I listen to this. The album sounds very professional, like their a very experienced band. That is great given that this is their first release.

I guess Malak borders on Deathcore sometimes but I really don't want to think of them in those terms. They have breakdowns and a few other Deathcore symptoms but given that I like Deathcore a fair amount though the genre has really run it's course. People tend to forget that it's the really generic ones that seem to stand out while the good ones are forgotten, at least in Deathcore.

You should definitely check them out on MediaFire

Narrows - New Distances (2009)

I'm gonna make this short.

Narrows is a hardcore band. Their members have been in other well known bands (I think). They are signed to Jacob Bannon's Deathwish label. They play hardcore and are very original in terms of songwriting. It has very unique melodies and sounds very fresh and new. I think this is a great album.

Now I will take a nap.

Diskreet - Engage The Mechanicality

Shit, I found this album earlier today. I have been thinking recently about how hard it is to find a great Technical Death Metal release these days. At last, I have found a great one.

Diskreet are a band from Topeka, Kansas. They play very Technical Death Metal with a very modern sound and feel. This is their first full length album. They have released one EP previously that was very highly acclaimed. A great up and coming band.

This album is incredible. One of the best tech death albums of this year in my opinion. I know I haven't listened to it extensively but I have been listening ever since I grabbed it. I really like the new wave of tech death and this band fits into that scene perfectly.

The album is heavy and technical without overdoing it. They blend the styles very well and also incorporate that occasional breakdown and solo. I think it works very well for them and the album sounds great too. It was mixed by Micheal Keene (The Faceless) and Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage).

P.S. Awesome album cover from Pår Olofsson

Odious Mortem - Cryptic Implosion (2007)

Odious Mortem is a band from San Francisco, California. This is their second full length album. They have been one of the leaders of the California Death Metal scene for some time now. That scene has spawned bands like Decrepit Birth and Severed Saviour, both of which have members from Odious Mortem.

They play very Technical Death Metal with an epic element. When I say epic element I don't mean like this epic, I mean like morbidly epic, like the definition of epic being that you could tell a tale of it. They are very modern in this sense and don't compromise brutality for melodies, which I like a lot and you hopefully do too.

The sound on this album has a definitive character to it. It's for the most part a sound similar to Fleshgod Apocalypse with an active, dirty bass sound, clicky drums and stuff. Although, I do think Odious Mortem sound more organic than Fleshgod Apocalypse. The guitar sound is also very cool but as I don't know much about guitar sound I don't know how to describe it.

All in all it's a fuckin' awesome album.

Complete with artwork from Pår Olofsson who is responsible for most of the really awesome artwork of recent Modern Death Metal.

Animosity - Animal

When I was lurking Myspace in the old days for some interesting bands, I came across Animosity and all that I could read was "Death Metal / Progressive / Psychedelic", gave it a listen and fucking loved it!
Finally a deathcore band that isn't bad or with a breakdown breaking the breakdown before (if you catch my drift). This is more like death metal influenced by hardcore.

Well, I can't say where their musical roots lay, but though I can inform you with is that the drummer is now drumming for Animals as Leaders (a cool progressive metal band) and one of the guitarist is playing live for Decrepit Birth.

I seriously like this album, plus the album cover kicks-ass (common it's a bear with a eagle tattoo vomiting).

Disavowed - Perceptive Deception (2001)

Disavowed is a Dutch Death Metal band. They play brutal death metal and they do it well. This band has become well known after their drummer Romain Goulon (did not drum on this release) left the band to join Necrophagist. Their new drummer is the guy from Benighted which I actually posted a few days ago. Anyways, this is their first album, and a great first album it is.

This album is awesome. I really like the vocals, they give the album the spastic element that the drums try to emphasize. The band is very much like a regular death metal band. Also, it sounds much like a regular Death Metal band and I don't mean that as a bad thing, as I said, I really like this album.

I encourage you to comment your thoughts!

Soreption - Deterioration of Minds (2010)

Soreption are a band from Sweden. They play awesome Modern Death Metal.

This is a great debut LP. There's lots of groove on this album and you can hear that they can really play their instruments. They also have a fun progressive element in their music that really gives the album a great twist.

It's very cleanly produced and it sounds very modern. They bass really sticks out and works very well with the drum sound.

Transcending Bizarre? - The Serpent's Manifolds (2008)

Transcending Bizarre? are a Symphonic Black Metal band from Greece. The band actually calls themselves a Post Modern Symphonic Black Metal which I think is very right genre title. They have released three LP albums and this is the second. They actually just released their latest album about two weeks ago.

This album is fuckin' amazing! Generally I don't like Symphonic Black Metal that much but this is so incredibly original that it's astonishing. The album is filled with instrumental chapters that sound like nothing I've ever heard. The Symphonic elements on this album are also really original and keep with the effect of the instrumental chapters but with a different sound to it.

It's really apparent that this band has gone long out of their way to create an incredibly original album and sound. They incorporate melodies that sound like they come from another plane of existence. I really can't describe the ride of imagination that this album takes it's listeners on. Complete with artwork that gives your mind an image of what you are listening to. I really can't describe this album in words. This is the definite must-listen album of 2008!!!

Bottom line is that this album blew me away to this aforementioned plane of existence.

Prepare to get blown away with MediaFire!

Enemy Reign - Means to a Dead End

I'm in the mood for a short post tonight. I am so tired but I really don't want to go to sleep because that means that the next thing I do is study for my exams. So for that reason I bring you:

Enemy Reign, a band from Denver, Colorado. These guys have gained a lot of attention because their vocalist is actually former Skinless vox Sherwood Webber and their drummer is Andon Guenther, co-creator of Sick Drummer Magazine. They play Death Metal.

It's a good 5 song EP.

Also, really cool album cover as with most albums I post (I have a thing for neat album covers).

Corpus Mortale - A New Species of Deviant

Corpus Mortale are band hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. They are a Death Metal band with old school influences (I really don't know my old school though). They formed in 1993 and have released two full length albums, the latter being A New Species of Deviant.

I really, really like this album. It kinda changed my view on Death Metal riffing when I first heard it. The album is somewhat original though not that much. It's still very much the Death Metal everyone is familiar with but I thought the riffing was pretty original. It's very epic riffing with a lot of cool melodies. I also like the vocals a lot, nothing special but very well done. All in all great album from these danish dudes.

The sound on this album is very pronounced. I like that, especially with this band. The sound relies heavily on the aggressive bass sound to give it a great deal of punch, it also gives it a heavier sense of groove. It's also very fun to hear a somewhat modern Death Metal band with a very old school sound. As I say the sound is very pronounced so that you can hear very clearly everything that's going on. I thought the guitar melodies really have their place in the sound. It all makes for a very fun listen.

Dioramic - Technicolor (2010)

I finally took a break from reading for my exams to give you this, one of my favorite albums.

Dioramic are a trio from Germany. They don't wish to be labeled with genre so they just call their music Artcore. This is because they play a mixture of so many genres. They do so very well and the album flows seamlessly throughout it's 50 minute running time. This is their first album and it's amazing that such young band can put out a debut like this.

The sound on this album is very good and it gives all the instruments their share. It's got a light guitar sound and a very aggressive bass sound which works well with the drum sound. On top of that the vocals are very well mixed with the dual vocal attack of the bass player and the guitarist. They put a lot of work into this album and it really paid off.

It's a pretty heavy but album but it's very likable to people who love the melody. It's got a wide range of vocals which are very well executed. These guys are also great players and the tightness of the band is amazing given that they are only three.

Bottom line is get this or die!

Well this is going to be a quick one.

Napalm death is a legendary grindcore band from the UK, that released a dozens of angry, fast and moshy albums and one of them is Harmony Corruption.

Obscure bands from Czech Republic part I

Lykathea Aflame - Elvenefris
(2000)

Well, this is my first post on Czech Republics obscure deathgrind movement and definitely not the last, this is probably my favorite movement ever.
Well I'll start with Lykathea Aflame, a progressive and atmospheric deathgrind band, with lyrical concepts like Sadness and giving gifts. This band formed out of the bands Appalling Spawn and Garbage Disposal ex-drummer, Appalling Spawn actually sounds much like Lykathea Aflame just bit more death metal.

The drumming on this album is unbelievable, growling is done seriously well and guitars are out-standing. This album is a brilliant work of art. Except for one minor flaw, that god damn ambient track in the end, though it just builds up with this awesome atmosphere (therefore a minor flaw) they managed to create.

Everything to this album is great and unique, it's not everyday that you find a death metal band that puts emotion in their music.
recommended for fans of experimental death metal.

Download

P.S. They said that they were going to record in autumn 2006 ever since I have been waiting for almost 2 years for them to give out that new album under the name Lykathé instead of Lykathea Aflame, Those lazy bastards just started recording 2009. Haven't heard anything more of it since then.

Amputated Repugnance - Infamous Tentacles Fisting (2008)

Amputated Repugnance is a two man band from Belgium. They seem to have released 3 songs in their 3 year career. I wish they would get off their asses and start making an album because I can't get enough of the stuff on this demo.

This two song demo is the shit!! It's got lots and lots of variable pig squeals and ultra brutal riffs. It's really intense stuff. As many would say, it's absolutely Slam-tastic.

Also, comment your thoughts on this.

I dare you to check it out on MediaFire!

Disgorge - Parallels of Infinite Torture

This band formed back in 1992, even though they have gone through quite the line up changes, they are still active (according to M-A). On this album we have Levi Fuselier (Pathology) doing vocals instead of Matti Way (Pathology) and A.J Magana (Defeated Sanity), also is Ricky Myers doing drums and has done so since the formation of Disgorge. Diego Sanchez (Pathology) and Ed Talorda playing guitar with Ben Marlin (R.I.P) on Bass.

This album is very brutal, right from the beginning, no intro just fades in with slow riffing, gutturals and some double bass action. Then you get blown into Disgorge's abyss of infinite torture.

Disgorge's 4th LP Parallels of Infinite Torture is their best work by my opinion so far. I hope they will release some more material for us to enjoy.

Benighted - Icon (2007)

Icon is an album by the French band Benighted. The band formed in 1998 and they play a pretty fun mixture of Grindcore and Death Metal. Although, it's obvious that they have lots of other influences. They even have a Hip-Hop thingy in the song Grind Wit right before the intro comes around the second time..

This is a pretty cool album. Icon apparently stands for "Infinite Conscience of Nothingness" of which I had no idea until I checked it out on Wikipedia just now. The album has lots of versatility, good production and these can play their instruments. It's their 5th album and it's basically good shit.

Check it out on MediaFire

Also, I encourage you to comment your thoughts on our posts.

Katalepsy - Musick Brings Injuries (2007)

This album is quite possibly the most brutal thing I have ever heard. It's lightning bolt fast at times and ultra-brutal slam slow the rest of the time. It's really grindy, gory, brutal stuff. Look, it's got everything on the brutal slam list:

  • Gurgling vokills
  • Brutal samples
  • Blastbeats
  • Thick guitars
  • Unrelenting aural punishment
  • Gory album cover

Yes, it looks like this album has everything. Russia's Katalepsy know what they are doing, or at least knew what they were doing because they play a whole different genre now. It's good stuff.

Also, they have a cover of Mortician's Rabid and Megadeth's Symphony of Destruction that has never been more brutal.

Malignancy - Inhuman Grotesqueries

Time to post one of my favorite albums, Malignancy's Inhuman Grotesqueries. Malignancy is an out-standing technical brutal death metal band hailing from New York with two members from the band Mortician, another top notch death metal band.

First time I heard this album I was mind blown, I thought this band was like every other technical brutal death metal band, but it's not, it has a lot of unpredictability and unique touch; somewhat experimental in a way.

This album is full of technicality and tons of squeals.

Highly Recommended.

The Last Felony - Too Many Humans

The Last Felony are a band hailing from Montreal, Canada.  This is the band's sophomore effort. They play a really intense mix of Death Metal with Black metal influences.

It's got loads of groove, technicality and overall tip-top musicianship. Too Many Humans is a heavy album and it sounds massive. I enjoyed it and I think you will too.

I encourage you to comment your thoughts on the albums we post here.

P.S. The artwork is sick!

Brodequin - Instruments of Torture

Grinding brutality, medieval torturing and filthy quality, looks like we got our self a great mix for a brutal death metal band. These guys knew what they were doing back in 2000 and didn't stop. Having released 3 LP albums this one is in my opinion the best one yet, being a fan of this dirty mixing and savage concepts of torturing.

These guys inspired Defeated Sanity, a Technical Brutal Death metal band that everyone should be familiar with, Lyrically. So definitely recommended for fans of Defeated Sanity.

Now for a delightful torturing method that I just read about:

Rats

A cheap and effective way to torture someone was with the use of rats. There were many variants, but the most common was to force a rat through a victim's body (usually the intestines) as a way to escape. This was done as follows:
  1. The victim was completely restrained and tied to the ground or any horizontal surface.
  2. The victim would then have many slits cut in their stomach.
  3. Then they would place starving rats in the slits and would eat the victim from the inside.
Gnawing in the intestines usually took a few hours of agonizing pain for the victim. This almost always resulted in death.

The Wretched End - Ominous (2010)

The Wretched End is a collaborative project from Norway between guitarist Samoth from Emperor/Zyklon and bassist/vocalist Cosmo from Mindgrinder. They also recruited drummer Nils Fjellström. They formed in 2008 and released a their debut album in October of this year.

I like the inital sound and flow of this album but I have not listened to it enough. It's a deathy, thrashy and a little black sounding album. I will probably love this album once I start listening to it properly as I seem to love everything that Samoth and co. release.

So here it is: MediaFire

Lantlôs - .Neon

This German post black metal band Lantlôs is technically a offspring of Amesoeurs EP "Ruines Humaines" with a more of a black metal approach than Amesoeurs last s/t LP.
With Niege on vocals delivering his mesmerizing chants of evil and Herbst a multi-instrumentalist also playing in the post-rock band Líam.

I probably like this album so much because I was quite disappointed of the withdrawal of Niege's black metal sound and harsh vocals from his bands Alcest and Amesoeurs EP's (Le Secrets and Ruines Humaines).

So here I bring you a great album which shares similarities with the French post black metal movement that isn't from France.

Crionics - Neuthrone (2007)

A fuckin tank of an album! Crionics are the definite underdogs of the polish blackened death metal scene. They are not well known at least not to my knowledge but damn they should be! They look basically like every other polish band and play much the same. However, this third album from them is one of the best things I have heard from that scene. It's basically Blackened Death Metal of the polish discipline with a bit of industrial. It's got lots of blastbeats and whatnot.  A bit like Hate but still unique.
They actually released their long awaited EP album called N.O.I.R. just last month. I am looking forward to hearing it. It has been too long in the making because of some difficulties they ran into. If my memory is correct these guys were on the tour bus with Decapitated when they crashed. They got away with a few broken bones and I think that definitely stalled that EP.
I will probably upload it once I get it.

Ulcerate - Everything is Fire

So, since I'm a part of this musick blog,
I thought it would be a smart move posting some super cool material, I decided to post Ulcerate second LP "Everything is Fire".
These masters of atmosphere hail from Australia where other masters of atmosphere such as Portal, Stargazer and Mournful Congregation also come from.

This album comes attacking at you with tremendous force right from the beginning with "Drown Within" and ending with the epic climax and the title track "Everything is Fire". To me this album merged all of its songs into a planet-consuming-supernova and left you stoked of its awesome atmosphere. Recommended for fans of Deathspell Omega.

I decided to throw a link of their new track "Dead Ocean" that will come out 25. January 2011 on "The Destoyers of All".

First post!!!

I am very excited to finally be part of the music blogging community. I will start this off with a favorite of mine from last year. This is Apostles of Inexpression by Vomit the Soul. It's an excellent brutal death slam thingy and I love it.

P.S. We will usually only upload from mediafire.
